5 Tips To Simplify This Holiday Season

The holidays can be an extremely busy and stressful time for people. Sometimes, it pays to simplify to make the holiday season more enjoyable. Here are five tips to help make things easier on yourself.

Buy Gift Cards

Shopping for presents takes a lot of time and forethought. It also cost money and time to wrap them. A gift card to a favorite restaurant, spa or beauty salon, movie theater, or shop, like a bookstore, will be just as appreciated as any other gift. It may be even more appreciated rather than receiving something they didn't need or want.

Skip The Big Meal

A turkey or ham with all of the trimmings may be traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas fare for many people, but it doesn't have to be. Not everyone has the time to make a dozen different side dishes and bake four different pies for three days leading up to the main event. It also costs a lot of money as well. Then the cleanup is no fun, either. There's nothing wrong with having a nice beef tenderloin or raviolis and a salad instead, with maybe a cheesecake for dessert. There's also nothing wrong with ordering Chinese takeout. The goal is to enjoy spending time with your friends and family, not being stressed to the max.

Avoid The Stores

One of the best things about the Internet Age is you can order whatever you want online nowadays. If you prefer choosing presents rather than gift cards, there's no need to battle the crazy Black Friday crowds or wait in long checkout lines. Simply go online, find what you want for the best price, order it, and wait for your deliveries.

Call For Liquor Delivery

You can make it easier on yourself by having your liquor needs delivered as well. Many liquor stores and grocery stores nowadays are serving their customers by making it even more convenient for them to get their holiday shopping done. Larger grocery stores and liquor stores allow customers to go on and order both groceries and beer and spirits. You can then either drive to the store's parcel pickup, or you can request liquor delivery and someone will bring it right to your door.

Use Disposable Dishes

No one wants to be stuck in the kitchen for hours cleaning up after a 15-minute dinner. It's bad enough it likely took hours or even days to prepare and it's over in a flash. Choose paper plates and cups and aluminum foil baking pans to make it easier on yourself.
